A neurological disorder refers to a problem with the nervous system, which regulates and coordinates the body’s activities. Nerve pain can arise from trauma, inflammation, stroke, disease, infection, nerve degeneration, exposure to toxic chemicals, and nutrient deficiencies.
Nerve problems can manifest as sharp, shooting, or burning pain, which typically occurs in the exact location with each episode, along the nerve pathway. A neurological disorder can also cause weakness or impaired function in the affected muscle. Another manifestation of a neurological disorder is either numb or overly sensitive skin.
